Position and alignment
Set layer position, rotation, alignment, and distribution.
Position
The X and Y fields in the right inspector show the position of the selected layer relative to the canvas origin (top-left corner). For layers inside a frame, X and Y are relative to the frame's top-left corner.
Type a value to move the layer to an exact position. You can also press Tab to move between X and Y without leaving the inspector.
Rotation
The Rotation field (°) rotates the layer around its center. Type a value between −360 and 360, or scrub the field by hovering and dragging left or right.
Hold ⇧ (Shift) while rotating a layer on the canvas to snap to 15° increments.
Alignment
When two or more layers are selected, the alignment buttons appear in the inspector:
- Align left, center, right — aligns all selected layers to their leftmost, center, or rightmost edge.
- Align top, middle, bottom — aligns all selected layers to their top, middle, or bottom edge.
Alignment is relative to the combined bounding box of the selection by default.
Distribution
- Distribute horizontally — spaces selected layers evenly along the horizontal axis.
- Distribute vertically — spaces selected layers evenly along the vertical axis.
Distribution uses the gap between the outermost layers as the fixed boundary and adjusts the middle layers.
Flip
- Flip horizontal — mirrors the layer left-to-right.
- Flip vertical — mirrors the layer top-to-bottom.
Tips
- Position values can be negative — this places the layer to the left of or above the canvas origin.
- When a single layer is inside a frame, its X and Y are relative to the frame, not the canvas.
- Use alignment before distribution to ensure layers are positioned correctly first.
