Lovision

Media

Add images, videos, and other media files to the canvas using the Media tool.

What is the Media tool?

The Media tool is the primary way to upload local files to the canvas. It opens your operating system file picker so you can select one or more files at once.

Click Media in the toolbar to open a file picker. There is no keyboard shortcut for this button.

Supported file types

File typeResult
JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIFImage layer
MP4, MOV, WEBMVideo layer
SVGVector layer

Using the Media tool

  1. Click Media in the left toolbar.
  2. Your OS file picker opens.
  3. Select one or more files.
  4. Each file is placed at the center of the visible canvas area as a new layer.

Alternative: Drag files directly from your desktop onto the canvas. Lovision places each file at the drop position.

After adding media

Once a media layer is on the canvas:

  • Drag it to reposition, or set exact coordinates in the inspector.
  • Drag corner handles to resize, or type W/H values in the inspector.
  • Double-click an image layer to crop it.
  • Select a video layer to access available controls such as mute, loop, replace, and export.

To replace an image while keeping the same position and size, select the image layer and use the Replace button in the right inspector's image section.

Tips

  • Use high-resolution source files for the sharpest results.
  • Place media inside a frame when it belongs within a structured layout — frames clip overflow cleanly.
  • Large files upload to CDN in the background; you can continue working while the upload finishes.
