Videos
Add, configure, and work with video layers on the Lovision canvas.
Adding a video
There are two ways to place a video layer on the canvas:
- Upload — use the Media tool in the toolbar and select a video file (MP4, MOV, or WEBM).
- AI generation — use the AI prompt input with a video model to generate a video directly.
Drag and drop a video file from your computer onto the canvas also works.
Video layer controls
Once a video layer is on the canvas, select it to access controls in the inspector and the canvas overlay:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Replace | Swap the video file with another file |
| Mute / Unmute | Toggle the audio track |
| Loop / Stop loop | Toggle looping playback |
Playback behavior
By default, videos autoplay when you hover over them in the editor. To disable hover autoplay, open Settings → Editor Preferences and turn off Autoplay videos on hover.
Tips
- Keep video layers inside frames when they are part of a layout — frames clip overflow and make positioning predictable.
- Mute videos if the audio is distracting while you work on other parts of the design.
- Replace the source file when you need a different clip; timeline scrubbing and trimming are not exposed in the current editor.
- AI-generated videos are created at a fixed resolution — use upscaling if you need a higher resolution output.
