Move around the canvas and change the zoom level.
Pan
Pan moves the visible area of the canvas without changing anything on it.
- Click and drag with the Hand tool (H).
- Hold Space while any tool is active to temporarily switch to the Hand tool, then drag.
- Two-finger scroll on a trackpad to pan in any direction.
- Middle-click drag with a mouse.
Zoom
Zoom changes the scale at which the canvas is rendered.
- Pinch on a trackpad to zoom in or out.
- Scroll while holding ⌘ (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows) to zoom centered on the cursor position.
- Use the zoom buttons in the bottom-right viewport controls to zoom in (⌘+) or out (⌘−).
- Open the zoom dropdown in the viewport controls to choose a preset zoom level or fit action.
Fit view shortcuts
| Action | Mac | Windows / Linux |
|---|---|---|
| Fit all content | ⇧1 | Shift+1 |
| Fit selected layers | ⇧2 | Shift+2 |
| Zoom to 100% | ⌘0 | Ctrl+0 |
Tips
- Zoom to 100% before checking pixel-precise spacing or font rendering.
- Use Fit all (⇧1) whenever you feel disoriented on a large canvas.
- Holding Space to pan is faster than switching tools when you only need to scroll briefly.
- The zoom level is shown in the viewport controls and updates live as you pinch or scroll.
