Import files
Add images, videos, SVGs, and other files to a Lovision canvas.
Import methods
There are three ways to add files to the canvas:
Drag and drop
Drag one or more files from your computer and drop them anywhere on the canvas. Lovision places each file as a layer at the drop position.
Media tool
- Click Media in the toolbar.
- Choose a file from your file picker.
- The file is placed at the center of the visible canvas area.
Paste from clipboard
Copy an image from another app (a browser, Figma, your OS screenshot tool, etc.) and paste it into the editor with ⌘V (Mac) or Ctrl+V (Windows). Lovision creates an image layer from the clipboard content.
What each file type becomes
| File type | Canvas layer type |
|---|---|
| JPG, PNG, WEBP, GIF | Image layer |
| MP4, MOV, WEBM | Video layer |
| SVG | Vector layer (editable paths) |
After importing
Once a file is on the canvas:
- Drag to move it, or use the inspector to set an exact position.
- Drag corner handles to resize, or type W and H values in the inspector.
- Double-click an image to crop it; use the image replace control when you need to swap its source file.
- Select a video to access available controls such as mute, loop, replace, and export.
Tips
- Large images are uploaded to CDN in the background — you can keep working while the upload completes.
- Paste a screenshot directly from your OS clipboard to quickly add reference images.
- If a file does not appear after dropping, check that the file type is in the supported file types list.
