Images
Add, configure, and transform image layers on the Lovision canvas.
Adding an image
There are four ways to place an image layer on the canvas:
- Drag and drop — drag an image file from your computer onto the canvas.
- Media tool — click Media in the toolbar and select a file from your picker.
- Paste — copy an image from another app and paste with ⌘V.
- AI generation — use the prompt input with an image model.
Image layer actions
Once an image is on the canvas, select it to access actions from the floating inline toolbar:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Crop | Adjust the visible area without changing the source file |
| Replace | Swap the image file while keeping the layer's position and size |
| Download | Save the source image to your computer |
| Remove BG | Remove the image background using AI |
| Inpaint | Edit a region of the image with a text prompt |
| Upscale | Increase image resolution with AI |
| Vectorize | Convert the image to editable vector paths |
| Extract text | Read and extract text from the image |
Working with image layers
- Resize — drag corner handles or type W/H in the inspector.
- Crop — double-click the image to enter crop mode.
- Move — drag the layer or set exact X/Y in the inspector.
- Apply effects — open the inspector to add fills, strokes, blend modes, and effects on top of the image.
Tips
- Use Replace instead of deleting and re-importing when you want to update an image without disrupting the layout.
- AI-generated images land as image layers with the same editing options as uploaded images.
- Large images upload to CDN in the background — the layer is interactive immediately while the upload completes.
